Educate your Fears

Are doubts blocking your creative genius?

Fear stops us.  It’s always fear. Fear of loss, fear of failure, of not being good enough, of not being seen to be good enough.

Today do not let fear stop you and here is how.

First check out if your fear is a real threat in the present moment and then get help or run away if that is so.  Do not live with unexplained fears.  Search out the reason and get help with it.

If you have celluloid fears like me, they are the repeated films you play in your head of what might happen if… they are not a real threat in the present but the remembered fears of another time that is no more.  But the fear is still there.

Fears like this stop us living life to the full.  It’s always fear.  Fear hides in the subzone of the brain, in the territory where big beasts live, haunted houses, leering faces.  These fears blemish talent.  Do not let these fears strip you.

Ride your fears, learn to handle them.  Get to know an imaginary fear.  Let it be your signal for action.

Are lingering doubts, that are not even voiced in your head ,stopping your creative genius?  Can you feel that lurch in the stomach, the energy leaching away so you feel worse each day, as you complain of creative blocks?  They are celluloid villains played out in the substrata of your mind.  But just as when you are at the cinema, you do not have to believe what is going on on the screen of your mind.

Leave the cinema in your head and get on with your creative projects.  Set yourself one easy task and then put your kitchen timer on for 30 minutes.  Suprisingly this shifts the imaginary power that we give to our blocks.  They subside.  They surrender.  You win.
